Antwerp Pride: the 2020 route
Antwerp Pride always wants to look further than the historic, tourist heart of Antwerp. That’s why, for the second time, we involve new neighborhoods in Antwerp Pride. After all, The Pride is a celebration for the entire city and we want to highlight that again this year.
That’s why we ask all participants to come together at the Sint-Jansplein in Antwerp North. At noon (as from 12 o’clock) we start releasing positive love vibes on the square.
Then we march as a community to the Paardenmarkt where the trucks will be ready, and the Parade will be set up. The Parade starts at 2 pm and immediately drives into the Hessenbrug to wave to the Hessenhuis Café.
A little further the Parade turns left on Oude Leewenrui and Brouwersvliet in the direction of the Scheldt. And so, we dance past Mister B and the cafés Santos and Corps Diplomatique. In that neighborhood you can also find the famous Cargo Club or Red & Blue.
The route then goes past the river on the Van Meterenkaai, Orteliuskaai, Jordaenskaai, Ernest Van Dijckkaai, Plantinkaai, Sint-Michielskaai and then turns into the Scheldestraat followed by the Waalsekaai where the Parade will stop.
This way the entire Parade comes to a halt along the large Love United Festival on the Gedempte Zuiderdokken, where the big celebration party will start.
The walk is 3,7 kilometers and will take you about an hour. It’s a nice walk with lots of points to enjoy the best view on our colourful Parade. Be welcome. Together we Pride.
